For 2023’s Spring Color Trends, we collaborated with color expert Kristin Van Buskirk, owner of the Portland-based home and gift boutique Woonwinkel, for this season’s spring color palette.  Using colors from our Northwest Color Collection, Kristin captured the vibrancy of the season.

“Springtime is full of fresh, brilliant greens that are fleeting,” said Van Buskirk. “I love the contrasts found in nature throughout the spring, between the light yellow-greens and the deeper greens, to create a visual energy that we can harness in a room or an entryway.”  - Kristin Van Buskirk

Kristin Van Buskirk, owner of Woonwinkel, and Puji Sherer share a pot of tea in Kristin’s recently painted sunroom.

Kristin recently moved into a new home with her family. A classic 1920s Tudor in the Southwest Hills, the home boasts beautiful molding and built-ins. However, most of the paint and wall coverings throughout the house were over 60 years old. See the before and after of Kristin’s sunroom here.

“Spring is the best time for home improvement projects, and this year’s spring color palette is upbeat and uplifting. We love partnering with Kristin and helping her transform the sunroom in her historic home into a modern, playful living space with our springtime hues.” - Puji Sherer

Luna | R049

Luna | R049 — The perfect spring yellow … or is it green? This color shifts with the light, adding a subtle complexity to any interior space. Try Luna in a sunroom or kitchen where brightness abounds.

Verde | R058

Verde | R058As its name implies, this luscious green encapsulates all of the vibrancy this season has to offer. Use on walls in a den or study as an upbeat alternative to the moodier forest green.

Shallow Moon | R083

Shallow Moon | R083 — A rich blue with greenish undertones, this darker blue brings balance and grounding. Suitable for any interior space – from trim and doors to walls and ceilings – this blue also wants to be outside. Designed to scale for a large project, this is one of our most versatile blues for exteriors.

Hue is the Artist? | R115

Hue is the Artist? | R115— Lilac blooms and crocus buds dot our landscape this season, bringing unexpected joy to our busy days. Use this color the same way in your home, and surprise guests with a painted archway or tiny powder room ceiling.
